While patrolling the Galleria lot, an officer noticed an unoccupied vehicle with the engine running. A computer check indicated the vehicle had been stolen from St. Louis City. It was towed and later released to the owner.

Assist to Clayton (Bank Robbery)
The Commerce Bank at Clayton & Demun was robbed by an adult male that was seen running south into Richmond Heights. A Richmond Heights officer located the suspect in St. Mary’s Hospital and did take him into custody. Suspect was turned over to Clayton Police.

Officers responded to the 1200 block of Brentwood to assist Macy’s security who was chasing a shoplifter. The 17 year old male was taken into custody after he was found hiding in a dumpster to the rear of the vacant Blockbuster store. He was booked for shoplifting as well as trespassing after it was learned he’d been banned from mall property for a prior stealing offense. Municipal warrants were sought.

Richmond Heights Officers assisted Clayton Police with a foot chase of a robbery suspect. A Richmond Heights Officer later apprehended the 18 year old male and turned him over to Clayton.

The department’s Automatic License Plate Recognition System identified a vehicle with numerous outstanding warrants. The vehicle was stopped and the driver, whose name was on the warrants, was arrested. A small amount of marijuana was also found in the car and the 31 year old male was additionally charged. He was issued a summons for the marijuana charge and turned over to another agency seeking his arrest.

A stolen car was located on the Galleria Mall Parking lot. Surveillance was conducted which resulted in the arrest of three males (ages 18, 16, & 15) who entered and tried to drive off in the car. The 18 year old was charged through the Richmond Heights Court after state warrants were refused from the St. Louis County Prosecutor’s Office. The two juveniles were turned over to the St. Louis County Juvenile Detention Center.

Suspect(s) broke in and stole the store safe as well as several liquor bottles. Officers responding to the alarm interrupted the burglary and recovered all stolen items as well as the suspect(s) car. The suspect(s) were not immediately apprehended and the investigation continues.

Police were called for a disturbance between a 27 year old female and a 23 year old male. When police arrived both ran from the residence. Upon being located they resisted arrest and failed to comply with police orders. The case was forwarded to the Richmond Heights Prosecutor for review.

While investigating a suspicious person outside an apartment, a 25 year old male came from the apartment and began verbally interfering with the officer. He was arrested and booked. He was later released with two Richmond Heights Court Summonses.

An officer on patrol observed a 30 year old male fall on the sidewalk. When the officer stopped to assist, the male, who appeared intoxicated and whose clothing was already soiled with vomit, became physically combative with the officer and was arrested. He was held pending a case review by the Richmond Heights Prosecutor.

Mall security attempted to stop a 15 year old male in accordance with their Parental Guidance Policy. When the 15 year old did not cooperate he was told to leave. When he refused to leave security attempted to arrest him. He became physically combative. Police were called and assisted with the arrest. He was later turned over to the St. Louis County Juvenile Detention Center.

Mall security was called by a mall store manager who reported that a known shoplifter, who had been banned from the mall, was just inside her store. Security was able to locate the 22 year old female and take her into custody. Upon being turned over to police she was found to be in possession of a pair of brass knuckles, a prohibited weapon. She was held pending a case review by the Richmond Heights Prosecutor.

A 16 year old male stole $150 in merchandise and then ran from store security and police. He was later arrested near I-170 and Eager Rd. The stolen merchandise was recovered and found to have been damaged when the sensor tags were torn off. The male was later turned over to the St. Louis County Juvenile Detention Center.

Police were called for the report of a 13 year old female who may have run away from home over disciplinary issues. She was located a short time later at a friend’s house in the area. Information surrounding this incident was forwarded to the St. Louis County Family Court and the family was provided with social services information.

A 23 year old female and a 22 year old female stole $671 in merchandise and were stopped by a store clerk as they left the store. The 23 year old pushed the clerk out of the way and tried to leave but was arrested by an arriving mall security officer. The 22 year old then took the stolen merchandise and walked away. She was later arrested by police as she tried to drive off the parking lot. Also, the 23 year old initially lied about her name and was additionally charged. They were held pending a case review by the Richmond Heights Prosecutor.
